Payment controls

Require a PIN for Epic Games payments: PIN needed for real-money purchases using Epic payment. Doesn't cover console store purchases or spending V-Bucks you already have.

Under 13: an automatic $100 daily limit on Epic payment purchases; above it needs your PIN.

Allow paid random items: off blocks spending V-Bucks on random-reward items (not shown in all regions).

Unauthorized purchases

  1. Must be less than 90 days old.
  2. Made on PC/Epic Games Store: contact Epic Support. Parents can use the Parent/Guardian request form, verify by email code, pick the child's account and describe it.
  3. Made on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or mobile: Epic can't refund; contact that platform's support.

FTC settlement

The FTC stopped accepting Fortnite refund claims after the reopened deadline of July 9, 2025. Payments went out in December 2024 and June 2025, and the FTC expects more payments in 2026 after reviewing later claims. The FTC never asks for money to get a refund, so treat requests for payment as scams.
