What a Cabined Account is

If a player indicates they're under 13 (or their country's age of digital consent, whichever is higher), the account becomes a Cabined Account. They can still play Fortnite, Rocket League and Fall Guys with content they already have, but features like voice/text chat and real-money purchases wait for parent consent.

Since June 2025 they can add Fortnite gift cards to the account balance (not usable for Fortnite Crew).

Give consent & set controls

1. Open the email titled "Your Child Created an Epic Games Account" and follow the link (your child can resend it from the Epic Account portal → Request Parental Permission).
2. Sign into your child's Epic account at the Epic Account Portal's Parental Controls page.
3. Create a 6-digit Parental Controls PIN, then choose settings. You can also open Settings → Parental Controls inside Fortnite.
