What is Call of Duty?
Last verified: Oct 14, 2026
Call of Duty is Activision's military shooter series, including yearly releases and free-to-play Warzone.
How it works
- Online matches use voice and text chat with strangers. Activision uses AI voice moderation in some titles.
What parents should know
- Realistic violence, voice chat with adults, and in-game purchases.
None of this means the platform is unsafe by default. It's why the controls exist and why they're worth ten minutes to set up.
Why it's rated the way it is
Mainline entries are typically rated M (Mature 17+) for realistic violence and language.
